The dominant domed church of Taxiarches is built in th enorthern edge of Meligalas and dates probably to the 18th century.
Due to earthquakes and the fall of a pine tree on its roof, the Hellenic Ministry of Culture based on an approved study of 2003, started work in August 2008, giving immediate priority to the restoration of its roof.
The works were completed in 2010.
