"In July 1189, the Heidberg parish vicariate was founded from parts of the Protestant parishes of Eckenhagen and Odenspiel. Construction of a church began in the spring of 1892.
The inauguration took place in the same year. The rectory was added in 1898. Since the church only had one roof turret, a tower was added in 1906. After the tower was completed, a clock was installed with dials facing all four directions."
