The old salt road in the Allgäu leads from Oberstaufen past wonderful old houses to the Alpsee. Tour is also wonderfully suitable for small children, as there is a lot to discover along the way and the route has hardly any incline.

Until the 19th century, the “Rödler” (rod farmers) transported the valuable salt from the mines through the country on precisely defined routes. In the western Allgäu, the history of this historic transport system comes to life again for one day every two to three years with the “Historical Salt Train”.
