The Our Lady Tower (Dutch: Onze Lieve Vrouwetoren) is a freestanding church tower in Amersfoort. This late Gothic structure is 98.33 meters tall (measured to the weathervane) and rises high above the city center. It is one of the city's most prominent landmarks and the third tallest church tower in the Netherlands. The tower is nicknamed "Lange Jan" (Long John). Originally, the tower belonged to a church that was destroyed in the 18th century. The tower is the central point of the Dutch map projection known as the Rijksdriehoeksmeting ("National Triangle Survey," with coordinates +155,000 m +463,000 m).
