Mountainbiking
Several public and private buildings overlook piazza del Popolo, including the town hall and the main town church, the Collegiate Church of San Giovanni Battista. This area is the heart of the so-called "Borgo round", the medieval historic center of San Giovanni, characterized by the particular concentric layout dating back to the Lombard period. San Giovanni is in fact one of the few cities in the Po valley to have fully preserved the round shape of the nucleus.

The historic center of San Giovanni in Persiceto is well preserved. The concentric shape of the streets, up to the "square" of the ring road, testify the evolution of the village from the Middle Ages to today. Plaques affixed to the alleys of the historic center tell of this evolution

San Giovanni in Persiceto is a well-preserved historic center (and it is the village that gave birth to the famous basketball player Marco Belinelli, NBA champion). The streets have a concentric shape that finds its fulcrum in the main square.
