Cykling

A short walk across the field from the main road and you will discover this delightful neolithic tump. You can crawl inside and view several chambers (tall enough to stand up). I suspect the original view across the Severn valley was stunning but now obscured by trees. A.K.A. Uley Long Barrow. Originally dated to around 3000 B.C. this long barrow was reconstructed during the late Victorian period. You can actually crawl inside of the chamber, which is bigger than the entrance suggests. The same field also contains the site of a Roman Temple, though this is buried and is not visible.
