The Kleien Aa or Weerijs originates in Brecht near the Kempense Vaart. She crosses the Marum. During the Second World War, this stream was straightened and deepened.
Recently, the stream was restored to its former glory at a number of strategic locations using historical maps.
The water quality has been restored in recent years and, together with the restoration of the stream structure, they have succeeded in turning the Aa into a species-rich stream.
