The monument stands on the Koppenstraße, on the corner of Singerstraße and was built in GDR times as a memorial against fascism.

Erected in 1975 at a central location on Koppenstraße, the stele with commemorative inscriptions, designed by Werner Richter, replaces older, decentralized memorial plaques. It commemorates the seven anti-fascist resistance fighters who lived in the neighborhood.
The square, recessed memorial stele, made of light-colored, carved cast stone, displays the symbol of the "persecuted of the Nazi regime" on a projecting cuboid on two sides. The other two sides bear the inscriptions "IN MEMORY OF THE BRAVE RESISTANCE FIGHTERS AGAINST FASCISM AND BARBARIS" and the dates of the seven resistance fighters.
