The station is located on the route of the old railway line that connected Modena to Mirandola, built at the end of the 19th century and abandoned in 1964.
In recent times, after the tracks were dismantled, a beautiful paved cycle path was created which leads from Modena to Bastiglia, and here is the recently restored building.
