Porta Cividale was built, like Porta Udine, in 1605. Porta Cividate, covered in rustic ashlar with white and gray stone, has more robust and severe lines. It has four columns, made up of ashlar blocks, in the lower part which give it an unusual vertical rhythm. Above, after a double protruding cornice, the two lateral sentry boxes, the old watchtowers, are connected by a beautiful balustrade, with small pillars arranged at a frontal angle. The Military Historical Museum of the city of Palmanova has been set up in the upper part of the door.
