The Winzenburg is said to have been an important fortification up until the 10th century. Its last owners were the Counts of Regenstein, who used the already decaying castle in the late Middle Ages. Incidentally, the Winzenburg Tower is not related to the Germanic fortifications. This structure was built in 1860 as an observation tower.

The Winzenburgturm is a beautiful observation tower on the Roßtrappenberg. It was built in 1860 on the site of the former Germanic Winzenburg. The tower is currently not accessible. An intuition is definitely worth it. Too bad that something breaks up.
