A lone hill at the end of the South Downs, which commands excellent panoramic views, including Kingsley Vale, Goodwood and Singleton. There are several bridleways that cross the hill, including the Monarch’s Way long distance route.
The hill is famous for the Middle Iron-Age hillfort at the top, known as the Trundle. Like most of Sussex’s Iron Age hillforts, there are legends of buried treasure, so a popular spot for detectorists.
