The DZ Bank building was built by the architect Frank Gehry, from whom e.g. also the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao originates. He is known for his deconstructivist or organic architecture. Due to the strict building specifications for buildings on Pariser Platz, he could not implement his typical construction outside, but had to implement it inside. In the inner courtyard (atrium) a lecture hall (auditorium) has been created that resembles a whale. The anteroom to the atrium is freely accessible.
