The St. Veit chapel (Vitus, he is one of the 14 helpers in need) dates from the middle of the 16th century and originally belonged to Ebensfeld, but was assigned to the newly founded parish of Kleukheim in 1625. In 1717-1719 the master mason A. Reinthaler built the existing building according to the plans of Johann Dientzenhofer. The builder was Prince-Bishop Franz Graf von Schönborn.
The St. Veit Chapel is embedded in an ancient linden grove, the only closed group of linden trees in Europe, and is a testament to an ancient settlement continuity in the Obermaing area.
