In Šćitarjevo there is an archaeological site of the ancient Roman settlement of Andautonije. Very interesting excavations and info boards, a bit neglected unfortunately.

Andautonia is the famous archaeological site of the Old Town settlement on the site of today's Ščitarjevo village (located on the road between Zagreb and Velika Gorica). This archaeological site originates from ancient times (somewhere in the 1st century BC), and the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb is cared for. Andautonia is open to visitors as well, so there is no reason why you should not visit Zagreb's surrounding area for a part of the history of this area.
