This chapel was built to commemorate the victims of World War II. For a small amount of money it is possible to light a candle. In addition, the hiker is asked to ring the peace bell by means of a bell rope, which is fastened over the door. So the whole place knows that another hiker has reached the Peace Chapel.

The small Friedenskapelle is one of the Sauerland soul places. It was built by men from Elleringhausen as thanks for returning from World War II. This is also the theme of the soul place: "Thank you for life".
