You can get there from Alberobello along the beautiful IT1A Alberobello-Noci cycle path, immersed in the most resplendent nature and climbing up the hill to the abbey, from where you dominate the entire area.

The adjacent building, later transformed into a farm, was originally a convent.
The origins of the Abbey traditionally date back to 591, when Pope Gregory the Great had a brotherhood of monks of the order of S. Equizio established here

The building stands in a dominant position on a promontory overlooking a canal called "di Pirro" (440 m a.s.l.), a large valley that precedes the Fasano forest.
It is an important testimony of the Romanesque rock architecture (11th-12th centuries). The church attests to the original application of the traditional practice of dry stone constructions to the forms of religious architecture.
