Situated in the northeast of Skåne county, Kristianstad is a lovely city with buildings in the historic city center that are worth seeing and with the beautiful Tivolipark. You will find accomodation, a great variety of restaurants and grocery shops.
Kristianstad was founded in 1614 by the Danish King Christian IV after Swedish troops under Gustav II Adolf had burned down the old town of Vä in a campaign. Therefore, Kristianstad once belonged to Denmark until the peace treaty of Roskilde in 1658.
