With numerous restaurants and bars, Quayside is the beating heart of Newcastle. The area along the river was once the centre of the industrial revolution in the city, home to commercial docks, a flour mill and Hoults Yard pottery. Walking along Quayside, you see some of Newcastle's most iconic sights such as the Tyne Bridge and Gateshead Millennium Bridge. Traffic in the area is normally quite busy, so take care on your bike.

Catch this place just before sundown and the views of the bridges up the river are something else.. A must if your passing either on Keelmans Way (Gateshead side) and the very popular Hadrians Way.
