The Hornischegg (2,552 m) was once a hotly contested border mountain between Italy and Austria. Today, it is considered the highest peak in the municipality of Sillian and a popular destination for hikers. A new summit cross now stands on its summit.

Hornischegg is located right on the Carnic High Trail, on the border between Austria and Italy, with a spectacular view of the Sesto Dolomites. Formerly a contested border mountain, the summit is now known as the highest point in the Sillian municipality and a popular vantage point for hikers.
