Idstein is a pearl in Hesse and always worth a visit.
Idstein [ˈɪtʃtaɪn] is a town in the Rheingau-Taunus district in Hesse, Germany. It is located in the Taunus, north of the state capital Wiesbaden, and fulfills the function of a medium-sized center according to Hessian regional planning.
In 2015, Idstein was awarded the honorary title of "Reformation City of Europe" by the Community of Protestant Churches in Europe.[2]
Since October 2016, Idstein has been called "University City"

Beautiful half-timbered town with a lot of charm. It is also worth a detour, in the small winding side streets.

Idstein's old town is one of the most beautiful in the entire Rheingau-Taunus district. Well maintained, quite large, lots of half-timbering, but absolutely no museum village. Thanks to the excellent gastronomy, happy residents and numerous visitors, including international ones, there is always a holiday feeling here, especially on warm summer evenings! But it is always worth a visit even in winter! 😉
