During my ascent, the rock was still a bit damp and quite slippery and it took a lot of strength in my arms to lift me up there. The chain with the knobs on it prevents slipping, which means you can hold yourself well with the necessary strength in your arms.
A head for heights and surefootedness are of course necessary. The tightest parts of the rope can also be bypassed, so you can look at the whole thing up close and still be able to decide whether you want to go up there or not.
