The castle is visible evidence of citizens' initiative. Where the previous owners and the city of Hungen had little or nothing left for preservation, it was thanks to an initiative by committed citizens in the 1970s that the dilapidated castle was awakened from its coma.
The Hungen Castle is impressive and its residents thank you with a rich cultural program.
