The largest wooden bear in the world
The brown bear (ursus arctos) is Härjedalen's landscape animal. For this reason, the municipality of Sveg came up with the idea of erecting a monument to the bear as a symbol and ambassador for the region. The result is the largest wooden bear in the world.
The bear was erected between 2003 and 2005 by the "Sveg" consortium. It is a symbol of the Härjedalen landscape and is intended to welcome all visitors.
