The now uninhabited island is a natural forest reserve and nature reserve. Enter is not allowed. But just for the view of the island and the towering Herzogstand behind it worth a break.

Sassau is the only island in the Walchensee. It is uninhabited and in the background you can see the 1,731 meter high Herzogstand. Enjoy the view. :-)
