Ancient place of worship La Fortaleza
Table Mountain, an eroded volcanic vent with a sprawling summit plateau, proudly towers 1241m above the ground. In the case of the locals, this was considered sacred place before the arrival of the conquistadors, which they used for their sacrificial rituals. With the arrival of the Spaniards, the rock massif was also used as a refuge from the besiegers. The Altkanarier called the mountain Argoday, the powerful.
