The castle, located on a small peninsula, has its origins in the 12th century, as evidenced by the existing vault. On these foundations, a Renaissance castle was built, which was destroyed in the Thirty Years' War (1631). It rebuilt a hundred years later. It was renovated in the years 2001-2003.

The history of the Havelschloss Zehdenick dates back to the Middle Ages. First mentioned in records as the Slavic fortress on the peninsula 800 years ago, it was the starting point for the settlement of the city of Zehdenick. As a remnant of the time, the cellar vault still offers a rustic charm and serves not only as a breakfast restaurant, but also as a registry office for wedding ceremonies. The room can accommodate up to 40 people. In good weather, our terrace with Havel view invites you to have breakfast and relax.
