The 800-year-old mountain and Hanseatic town is a popular resort due to its location on the upper reaches of the Möhne and its wooded surroundings. Rüthen is 25 km from Lppstadt, 30 km from the district town of Soest and 20 km from Meschede with good connections to the A44 and Paderborn Lippstadt Airport (15 km). Here, visitors can enjoy nature, history and culture at every turn. The symbol of the city is the water tower, which can be seen from afar.
