Vandring
The fortress was built in 1869-1879. It was supposed to protect the Prussians from hostile ships. There were no fights here.
The pier was only built in 1926 as a loading ramp. At one time there was even a Hadag excursion restaurant - unfortunately dismantled in 1960.

Cykling
There are only two fortresses of this type between Hamburg and Cuxhaven. Interesting for adults and children. If you're lucky, you can take part in a guided tour. Then you go through the former living and service rooms of the well-preserved fortress. There is a café in the inner courtyard of the ring-shaped complex. Bring your time and go on a discovery tour. Here we experience history not from a book, but from the object! That's what makes it exciting.
