The house was built in 1898 as a summer house for a label manufacturer from Dresden. In 1919 the Saxon Community Deaconess House Zion was founded here. As early as 1924, the sisterhood moved to Aue for reasons of space. The house becomes a rest home and, like the sisterhood, bears the name "Zion".
In 1937 the name "Zion" on the tower was banned by the Nazis and the house was renamed "Friedensburg"...
