The German Forest Youth has rededicated the former watchtower of the Berlin Wall as a nature protection tower and also installed information boards and relics on the history of the Berlin Wall

Great outdoor info boards and fences like on the wall as well as original "Stalinrasen" to touch and look at. There is also a clear drawing of the structure of the wall strip. Found it very informative and well designed.

Of the 302 border towers around West Berlin, four are still standing today. One of them belongs to the Schutzgemeinschaft Deutscher Wald (SDW). The border tower on the former German-German border lies between Berlin-Frohnau and the high Neuendorfer district Bergfelde and is open since 1990 for day-care centers, schools and other educational institutions that want to learn about nature and history. In addition, there is the offer for interested groups to take tours of the tower and in the grounds, in the nearby nature reserve Treugraben, the moor, the heath or the Hubertussee.
