Bjergvandring
The Watzmann is also known as the guardian of clear, fresh drinking water. It is the symbol of the Berchtesgaden National Park.
What many people probably don't know is that the Watzmann once formed a vault with the Hochkalter, which was eroded and reshaped by the glaciers of the "Würm Ice Age" - over the millennia the Wimbach Valley was created.

After leaving the east wall, the south summit beckons. Depending on your condition and weather, you can descend via Wimbachgries into the valley or cross over in the opposite direction via Mittelspitze, Hocheck and Watzmannhaus. Fantastic tour!

The Watzmann is the central mountain range of the Berchtesgaden Alps. The famous limestone massif culminates in the 2713 m above sea level. NHN high Watzmann middle peak, which is also the highest point in the Berchtesgadener Land. The Watzmann legend surrounds the Watzmann and its secondary peaks Kleiner Watzmann (also called Watzmannfrau or Watzfrau) and Watzmannkinder. The Watzmann east face is the highest wall in the Eastern Alps.
