Are you a technology enthusiast? You have to see it: When it was built, the entire Zollverein complex was considered the largest welded construction in Europe. This superlative referred to the 2,200 tons of a total of 7,700 tons of steel that were welded together, mainly during the construction of the halls. The concerns that existed at the time about the still young development of welding technology prevented it from being used in the construction of the headframe. The frame was therefore designed as a riveted construction due to the high dynamic load.

Vandring
The tower and the Einstrebenfördergerüst stand on the first two Zollverein shafts. In 1904 and 1954, the mine was modernized, and the conveyor systems were renewed.
