Sächsische Binnenhäfen Oberelbe GmbH with locations in Dresden, Riesa and Torgau purchased the mega crane from Liebherr with the help of European funding of 5 million euros. The cranes in Alberthafen can only lift loads of up to 85 tons, the new one can move up to 600 tons, depending on the radius. It is expected that there will be 50 to 60 missions per year. The first transshipment, a 115-ton transformer from Siemens, took place last week.
If necessary, the crane can even be moved. Then it is dismantled and almost 1000 tons are transported on ships.
