Bad Harburg, located on the northern edge of the Harz Mountains, is a recognized brine spa and serves as a health resort. In addition to its reputation as a health resort, Bad Harzburg has a direct connection to German unity: Immediately after German unity, on November 12, 1989, over 300,000 visitors came from the GDR, as it was right on the German-German border.

The place offers attractive hiking routes in the Harz Mountains, such as a lynx tour, a brine thermal bath for relaxation and, recently, a treetop path.
