Here you can see the reconstruction of a watchtower on the Limes. The tower is made of wood and unfortunately currently not accessible. On the rotating model you can create different watchtowers (nice for children) and there is information about the watchtower on a display board.

According to the information board, the reconstruction is very speculative. There is agreement on the floor plan, because the foundations that have been preserved in the floor help further. It can only be guessed whether a watchtower had two or three floors, what the roof and rampart looked like. It is also questionable whether the original growth was actually made of wood. There is no evidence of a Roman wooden watchtower in the wider area, but at least one made of stone.
