Located in Calvaruso, at about 500 meters above sea level, Forte Campone is structurally on two levels connected by a ramp on the left side.
Within the entire fortified structure, eight cannon pitches can easily be seen. This makes the Campone fort the Umbertine fortifications with a remarkable armament despite the size being modest.
It is still in excellent condition and could be used with some internal and external safety work.

It is Graziella Campagna, an innocent victim of the mafia, taken up there by deception and killed there for having discovered the true identity of a Cosa Nostra man who was hiding in Villafranca Tirrena, in the 80s.
