Here more than 20,000 trees would have fallen victim to the northern connection in 2008. A peaceful protest movement was able to prevent this, although there was already a building permit. Countless white crosses can be found in many places in the forest, symbolizing the "clear-cutting".

The white crosses mark trees that would be felled during the construction of the airport north connection!
In total, over 20,000 trees would be felled in this forest!
There is already a building permit. Construction has been halted due to soil contamination in the airport area.
