Vandring
The former monastery church of Dietramszell now serves as a parish church. The origin of the monastery goes back to the year 1102. The Augustinian Canons had their monastery church built between 1717 and 1741. The interior is flooded with light with a two-story window arrangement. The entire church is richly decorated with stucco work, altarpieces and frescoes by Johann Baptist Zimmermann. Zimmermann lived from 1680 to 1758. He is an outstanding representative of the Upper Bavarian late baroque.

The patronage "Maria (or Assumption)" of this church refers to one of the many commemorative days or feast days in honor of Mary, the Mother of God. It goes back to the feast of their physical acceptance into heaven, which the Church celebrates annually on August 15th.
In many rural areas it is common for the people to collect herbal bundles (called "Kruggweusch" in the Rhenish dialect) on this day and bless them in the festival service.
