Anyone who walks under the Koornmarktspoort imagines the medieval camps without any problems. At that time the gate was woven into the city wall. The rooms above the gate entrance have been used as a prison and accommodation for soldiers over the centuries.
Today it has a cultural interpretation as a communal exhibition space. The Koornmarkt-Spoort hosts six exhibitions a year, from young to experienced professional artists. Any style or discipline can be considered for an exhibition and the Koornmarktspoort staff work closely with the artist in the creation.
