The Bianco lake is located a short distance from the summit of the Gavia pass. Legend says that both the Bianco lake and the Nero lake were born from the passion between Bianchina and Nerino. In fact, the two young men lived happily together, causing the jealousy of Pinotta who, with the help of the wizard Viz, caused a storm to unleash on the Gavia pass. This storm transformed the two young men into two ice statues. The spirit of the waters intervened and melted the two ice statues, which became the two current lakes.
