When driving up to the Val da Fain, it is worth stopping from time to time - not only to take a breath, but also to enjoy the view back towards the Bernina massif. The glaciated mountains of the Palus seem within your grasp. The turning point has been reached at Alp Stretta and the descent back to Pontresina immediately makes you forget the effort of the ascent.

Mountainbiking

The driveway to Val da Fain (Heutal) is highly recommended and you will be accompanied by the looks and whistles of the "Munggen" (marmots). It is a beautiful track, the conditionally and visually (stop and look around worthwhile) is an absolute highlight. The (ride) back (if you turn up at the Alp La Stretta) is a lot of fun.
