This petrol station, built in 1927, was operated from 1941 to 2000 by Lucille Hamon, a real power woman. Not only did she learn how to use the petrol pumps to patch flat tires, she also raised three children and looked after 7 cabins that could be rented. Her husband died in 1971 and even the opening of the freeway could not harm the "Mother of the Mother Road", she was still there for her guests until she died in 2000. The petrol station is one of two remaining that are covered with a "service apartment".
