Vandring
Schloss Herzford is a moated castle near the independent town of Lingen in southern Emsland. It was built in 1337 as the "Thor Slipse" castle on the left bank of the Ems.
Between the years 1717 and 1723 the Baroque manor house was built by the councilor and lessee Anton Helweg and the family von Schorlemer, whose architect was the master builder Gottfried Laurenz Pictorius (1663-1729). The bridge, the outer bailey and the gardens were planned by the architect of the late Baroque Johann Conrad Schlaun.

The Herzford estate is privately owned and cannot be visited. Nevertheless, you can take a look at the beautiful building from the outside.
