The collegiate church in downtown Stuttgart is the main church of the Evangelical State Church in Württemberg and parish church of the collegiate church within the church district of Stuttgart. As an inner city church, it continues to perform tasks that go beyond its parochy. The lower part of the south tower is the only surviving structural testimony of the Staufer period in Stuttgart. With its two unequal towers, it is one of the landmarks of the city. It is also considered the sacred center and main church of the Protestant Württemberg.

Around the 10th or 11th century, a church was built, which over the centuries has been expanded to become today's collegiate church. Striking: the two very different towers. While the west tower at the end of the nave has an octagonal shape, the square south tower ends on the side with a pointed roof.
The collegiate church is the landmark of old Stuttgart - and is flanked by Stuttgart's oldest house: the fruit box.
