The Schleicherhütte stands on the Eschlesfelsen and is simply a nice place for a break. It was built in 1900 as a refuge, but you can not see the original here, because it was destroyed in 1990 by a hurricane. Today is the robust new edition - the view is no less beautiful.

Hikers in Albstadt are almost magically attracted to the “Schleicherhütte” (902 meters) viewing pavilion, which sits majestically on the Öschlefels to enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view when the weather is clear. The builder was the Öberförster Rudolf Schleicher, who headed the Ebinger Forstamt from 1902 to 1911. In 1990, hurricane Wiebke completely destroyed the Schleicher hut. But what would Ebingen be without a Schleicher hut? That is why the THW built a new hut in 1992.
