    Mountainbiking

With its 13 exit points in the rock and constant discharge of 600 to 800 liters per second, the spring is one of the largest karst springs in Thuringia and therefore a geological peculiarity. This strong source output was previously used to drive mill wheels.
The water comes from the Wilder Gera, which seeps near Liebenstein, as well as precipitation, which flows as streams through an underground cavity system in the limestone of the higher Gossel Plateau and is crystal clear. Appropriate experiments confirm this statement and also suggest the existence of an underground lake.
