A little below the Saalburg on the way to Hohemark you will be surprised by this very high, impressive column. The gold-plated figure on the top shines most beautifully at dusk.

The Jupiter Column on Feldberg not far from the Saalburg is a copy of the one in Mainz. Since only few pieces of the gilded bronze were found, the statue on the top has been reproduced as naturally as possible.
A nice place to start a tour.
