This part of the coast from Cervantes to further north is considered a good surfing area.
The town is calm, but one of the first places if you want to go north from Perth, where you can spend the night and from here to the Pinacles or the nearby sand dunes.
One almost overlooks the sand dunes further inland from Cervantes. They are a Mecca for 4WD enthusiasts.
