The beginnings of the Maria Weinberg pilgrimage church date back to the 12th century and the expansion of the initial building took place in the 15th and 16th centuries. The church was badly damaged during the Second World War, but later renovated, so you can visit the magnificent interiors today.

The history of the church dates back to the 12th century. The year 1155, which can be read on the triumphal arch, refers to the older Gothic part of the church. During renovation work, Romanesque elements of a former castle chapel were repeatedly found, which are associated with the "Kertes" castle, which was first mentioned in 1221. The expansion of the church took place in the 15th and 16th centuries.
